Hi Friends! It’s that time of the year when almost everyone is busy watching the FIFA Football World Cup. This sport is played all over the world and the World Cup is one of the most watched events in History. It was first played on 19th December, 1863 at Limes Field, Mortlake in London, England.

This year, the FIFA World Cup started on 14th June, 2018. Brazil are the favourites and has won the cup several times, earlier. I personally support Germany and my favorite player is Mesut Ozil.

Here’s a brief summary of the big matches played so far:

1st match (14th June, 2018) – Russia vs Saudi Arabia. It was a one-sided match. The score was Russia – 5, Saudi Arabia – 0. Saudi Arabia was not in form that day.

Match recap video:

2nd match (15th June, 2018) – Portugal vs Spain. It was a nice match. Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick encapsulates polarizing brilliance: One penalty, two running goals. 1st goal was done within 4 minutes of the match through penalty shoot-out. The second goal was given at 44 minutes and the third at 88 minutes. Spain also played pretty well. Deigo Costa and Nacho made an equalizer against Ronaldo. The match was a tie: Portugal 3, Spain – 3.

Highlights: Ronaldo scored his 51st career hat-trick, and his treble was also the 51st hat-trick scored in World Cup History.

3rd match (16th June, 2018) – Argentina vs Iceland. It was a tie: Argentina 1, Iceland – 1. Everybody played well that day. Messi couldn’t perform as per expectations though.

Match recap video:

4th match (17th June, 2018) – Germany vs Mexico. Germany was defeated by 1 goal. It was not expected that the last World Cup champions would lose their very first match.

Match recap video:

5th match (18th June, 2018) – Brazil vs Switzerland. The match ended in a draw: 1 – 1.

Match recap video:

The next few weeks are going to be eventful. Lots of great matches to be played and lots of exciting moments to experienced. Stay tuned.
