Hey Friends! The World Cup fever is on.

The Brazil versus Switzerland match ended in a draw. It was a great game. Brazil scored within 20 minutes of the match while Switzerland levelled the score at the 50th minute of the match. Brazil’s Philippe Coutinho and Switzerland’s Steven Zuber were the scorers for the day.

Key Insights:

  • Brazil failed to win their opening match at the World Cup for the first time since 1978, when they drew 1-1 with Sweden; they had won nine matches in a row between 1982 and 2014.
  • Switzerland have lost only one of their last 23 matches, a 2-0 defeat to Portugal in October, 2017.

6th match (18th June, 2018) – Sweden vs South Korea

It was a nice match. Sweden won by 1 goal and the final score stood at Sweden -1,  South Korea – 0. The goal was scored by Andreas Granqvist of Sweden at the 65th minute of the match in penalty shoot-out.

Key Insights:

  • Sweden have been unbeaten in all five of their previous meetings with South Korea.
  • This was Sweden’s first win in their opening match at the World Cup since beating Mexico 3-0 as hosts in 1958, drawing five and losing two since then.
  • South Korea have lost their opening match at a World Cup for the first time since 1998 (1-3 vs Mexico).

7th match (18th June, 2018) – Belgium vs Panama

The final score was Belgium – 3, Panama – 0.

Dries Mertens scored at the 47th minute of the match while Romelu Lukaku scored at the 69th and 75th minutes.
